Ohhh, I'm glad I'm blogging about food, this is a recipe I'm keeping and making more of! I'm watching what I'm eating, as we all should, but every once in a while .. this is a treat!! While it's true that "man cannot live on bread alone" there are simply days an indulgence such as this is worth it!
I'm calling this Calzone "Colby Chicken and Chive" because those are the three ingredients which just make this Calzone such an amazing bite.
I made a total of 5 Calzones with this mix, using 5" Diameter Bases cut from the Thin Crust Pizza Dough. Link here.
Colby Chicken & Chive Calzones
To save me time writing it out, please note, everything in the recipe is diced.
2 Onion Chives
1 Roma Tomato
1/4 Cup Spinach
1/2 of an Orange Bell Pepper
1/2 TSP Basil
1/2 TSP Oregano
1/2 TSP Garlic Powder
1/4 TSP Red Pepper Flakes
1/4 Cup Grated Colby Cheese
Olive Oil for drizzling and brushing on the Pizza Dough.
Thin Crust Pizza Dough for the base.
Form your Calzones.
Bake at
375 F
30 minutes
Sprinkle Colby Cheese on top at the end to let it melt and place
back in the oven for 3 minutes.
Nummy!!

I'm HAPPY I made this on. It was better than the first one I made. It was the chive and cheese that made the flavours come to life.
