Rice Wraps |
It's a beautiful November Day where I am and a day of Remembrance. An important day to remember in history, though it's not the topic of my post, I hope you took a minute to contemplate where we are today because of who they were, and, what they did for today's generations.
I have been doing a lot more reading and looking into diet choices and how it affects us, everyone of us is different, and everyone of us may have different nutritional needs based on our bodies requirements, age and ability to digest certain foods. Recently after visiting a registered dietician, I made a few modifications to my diet. My original post is here. Anti-Inflammatory Discussion.
Nuts and Berries |
I have seen an improvement in my digestive health by temporarily removing Cruciferous vegetables from my diet, cooking the root vegetables I am eating and I have added Kefir to my morning's ritual of Berries and Nuts. Sometimes I'll eat porridge for a change, and I have been adding the Kefir to the oats after they have been cooked. I do use either apple sauce or honey as a sweetener as well, plus cinnamon and nutmeg for a little spice.
I admit, I don't like the flavour of Kefir, but as an addition to my diet, it's seems to be assisting all those little microbes, so I'll eat it regardless of how it tastes. I'm a huge fan of a finished meal that has flavours and depth, but sometimes, it's better to choose something that will give your body balance if it needs tuning. Our American way of eating can absolutely be tweaked.

I have increased the amount of leafy greens too. As a side dish, lightly sautéed Swiss Chard or lightly steamed Spinach is a treat.
